About Me
I began sewing at a young age, making doll clothes and small toys for craft shows, and then later my first quilt when I was 14 and my passion for fabric and quilting has never stopped. I would consider myself a familiar entity with my following on Instagram and my creations. I have designed a super small thin blade Dresden pattern that is one of my most popular patterns, along with a “Mini Dresden Rainbow Pattern” and some of my followers call me the “Dresden Queen”.
Sewing pincushions has always been my favourite because it allows me to try out a new pattern, but without all the work of a large project. It also pushes me to cut into my most loved fabrics and work with them, since there are so many that I continued to “store away” and I was too afraid to use them! Then I can see a finished item with my cherished fabrics and enjoy them so much more.
Little things have been a love of mine for as long as I can remember. I have various collections of super small treasures and so making pincushions was right up my alley. I knew I had to share the joy of something so small and adorable!
I teach various classes, mostly locally, on free-motion quilting, Mini Dresden quilting, and Petite Patchwork quilting. There are usually around 10 students in my classes. I live in a very small town, so people have come from the surrounding areas, but our classroom is quite small so we have had to limit the number of attendees. I had many classes scheduled for the coming months, however, they have all been cancelled due to the unique situation we have been in for the past months.
“Charmed, I’m Sure” was my first published book in 2009.
Make Modern Magazine has published 3 of my works, including a special feature on my “Micro Mini Sew-A-Long”. Every May on IG I host a sew-a-long where I challenge my followers to create super tiny quilts. I share some of my tricks with them and it is a fantastic success! Every year I have at least 10 sponsors and there are weekly prizes for the participants.
Quilts and More have published more of my patterns than I can remember, and most of them have been featured on the front page. I have created some adorable pincushions from wool felt and fabrics. My donut pincushion was also chosen as the front cover of “Simple Sewing Projects”.
